Carrie Davis - Galax Elementary Assistant Principal

406.jpg

Carrie Davis’s love for education and children started at a young age as she came from a large family.  She has been a mom to many foster children and later had the privilege of adopting one of those. She is a mom of six children and loves her busy life with them.

Mrs. Davis mostly grew up in Pulaski County, Virginia but later relocated to Bluefield, Virginia where she graduated from Graham High School.  Mrs. Davis received her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Milligan College located in the mountains of Tennessee. She got her first teaching position in Lincoln, Illinois where she was the administrator and teacher of a private PreK.  After being homesick Mrs. Davis and her family came back home to Virginia where she began teaching in Carroll County for 13 years. She taught most of those years in Kindergarten but also taught in 2nd and 3rd grade.

In 2019 Mrs. Davis completed her graduate work with Radford University in Educational Leadership.  Her vision is “We Are All in This Together” because she feels school, home and community are all integral parts of each student’s life.  She is very enthusiastic about joining Galax Elementary School as Assistant Principal and to be a part of the TIDE community!
